Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Maccabi Rishon Lezion tonight (Sunday) 64:75 and went up to 1:18 in the Winner Basket League.
The yellows have come a little lethargic after the rest they received last week from the Euroleague and the fact that they did not attend the passing cup week. Rishon Lezion, who came without Adam Ariel who was injured in the National Cup semi-finals and without the ill-fated coach Guy Goodes, remained close until the last quarter and even managed to squeeze the champion a little and led a lot thanks to James Kelly who scored a high percentage.
In the final minutes, Othello Hunter and Scottie Wilbkin rose from Janis Spropoulos's bench, the Yellows picked up pace and intensity, Tyler Dorsey scored from all ranges and recorded a handsome statistic to secure the victory for new CEO Adli Marcus, who was first in the home game of Maccabi Tel Aviv since his appointment.
The Yellows are going up the pace in preparation for the tough foreign game in Valencia on Friday, while the RAC will be out for the varsity and think how to improve the roster for the final and crucial part of the season.
