The Israeli team began training Monday night for the European Championship 202 early campaign. The white and blue team will open its games on Thursday in Poland and four days later will host Romania in the Shlomo Group Hall.
Coach Oded Katsch said at the press conference: "We are very excited to start. Very challenging to prepare a team in three days, we will try to make the most of it. We start a tough outfield and then host Romania which is better than we think.
"We will start reaping the rewards of this campaign. There is a very good quality young generation and we want to see good things from them."
Meckel: "Happy and excited to be here. Unfortunately last year I was not due to illness and it was important to be part of it again. There is now a very high quality generation that can do very nice things. "
