Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - To India for a week to whistle two soccer games from Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City FC? The German referee Christian Dingert really liked this experiment last week.
The FIFA Referee described the week as "a great football experience as well as beyond". "They were very, very nice boys," said 39-year-old Dingert of "Rheinpfalz" about his Indian assistants with whom he had run two Indian Super League games last week. He would "very much like" to support the colleagues on site again.
Dingert had traveled as part of a cooperation between the Indian Football Association and the German Football Association (DFB) to support the referee in India. What was new for the referee from Lebecksmühle was the sparse crowd. The official returned on Friday morning and was again the video referee in the Bundesliga on Saturday at FC Augsburg against SC Freiburg.
