Traffic chaos looms around the Westfalenstadion and Westfalenhalle in Dortmund today (February 18): BVB play against Paris and the US band Slipknot appears.

Dortmund - For weeks, fans of BVB - and also those of Paris St. Germain - have been looking forward to the round of 16 between the two teams in the Champions League . On Tuesday (February 18, 9 p.m.) the time has finally come.
Dortmund: BVB against Paris St. Germain and Slipknot concert at the same time
The same anticipation should slowly appear among fans of the American nu metal band Slipknot . The stupid thing: The scary metal from Slipknot, who also appeared at Rock am Ring in 2019, have their gig at the same time as BVB's game against Paris , reports RUHR24.de *. The concert officially starts at 7.30 p.m., however, the band should come to the stage of the Westfalenhalle much later.
For the around 67,000 spectators in the Westfalenstadion , which is only about 500 meters away, and the well over 10,000 fans who are expected to attend the Slipknot concert in the Westfalenhalle 1 , this means that traffic chaos could occur around the B1 event area. Good: By February 18, the construction work on the fragile city motorway, which last caused a speed of 30, will be fixed again.
Nonetheless, the streets around the stadium and hall could be tight not only when you arrive, but also when you leave, as both events come to an end in time.
Traffic chaos in Dortmund possible due to BVB game and Slipknot concert
Because the football game and concert take place on a weekday, many fans are only likely to go to the Westfalenstadion and Westfalenhalle late after the work is done. The police and the city of Dortmund warn against this at events of this kind.
You are advised to arrive early - preferably by public transport. Even better - and probably also more flexible: There are guarded bicycle parking spaces around the stadium for cyclists - at least 400 pieces, for example in the triangle Rebenloh / Strobelallee .
Slipknot is coming to Dortmund on Tuesday (February 18).

Caution e-scooter drivers! If you want to jet from the city to the Westfalenstadion or the Halle with one of the electric speedsters, you should note on arrival that the locked areas around the stadium are taboo for the scooters. Especially on the Strobelallee in the shadow of the north grandstand, driving with e-scooters is not permitted.
Stadtbahn brings fans to the BVB game and the Slipknot concert
On the other hand, it is safe to walk dry to the stadium and the Westfalenhalle using public transport . The U46 goes directly from the Stadtgarten to the Westfalenhallen , from the main train station the A45 goes directly to the Westfalenhallen. The U42 also brings fans to the stadium and the Westfalenhalle (stop "Theodor-Fliedner-Heim").

Those who arrive by car : There are more than 10,000 paid parking spaces available around the Westfalenstadion and the Westfalenhalle - but as always, it gets tight and bustling. There is also an alternative: fans can take the shuttle service from the university grounds from the Otto-Hahn-Straße car park (A45 exit Eichlinghofen or B1 exit Barop) to the stadium.
Thousands of parking spaces for fans of BVB, Paris and Slipknot - but it can get tight
Around 3300 parking spaces (identification A) are available in the immediate vicinity of the Westfalenhalle. In the vicinity of the halls, another 6,000 parking spaces (CF code) provide parking space for cars and buses. There are charging stations for electric vehicles in the A4 car park and on Strobelallee.
