An amateur player was suspended five years by the district of Moselle for having bitten, during a fight, the sex of opponent.

Fighting on the football field has unfortunately become common in French football. That which took place last November 17 during an amateur meeting of 2nd district division between Terville and Soetrich took a rather particular turn when a player attacked an adversary by biting his sex to him.

According to the Lorraine Actu website, which revealed the affair, two of the opponents began to fight and a third, a player from Terville, tried to separate them. It was at this point that the Soetrich player bit him into sex. Assessment, a dozen stitches and four days of temporary incapacity for work (ITT).

Five years' suspension for the aggressor and six months for the victim

The Moselle district disciplinary committee had to examine this unpublished case on January 30 and delivered a rather heavy verdict since the aggressor was suspended five years from competition. The injured Terville player was suspended six months. "As this file was quite original, the disciplinary committee asked that an instructor be appointed to make the correct assessment and that we not be satisfied with the testimony, that we can have additional elements", a explained to AFP Emmanuel Saling, the director general of the district of Moselle, without being able to give precise details on the course of the fight. “Presumably the facts occurred after the match, in the parking lot of the stadium. There was an argument, an escalation and things got worse, "he added, adding that the wrongs were" more or less shared ".

Quite rare sanctions of several years

"It is quite rare to have sanctions lasting several years, there are less than ten a year," continued Mr. Saling. "It is sure that this file was a little crisp, but when we imagine the exit from the match, there must have been a nasty tension, so the smiles in the disciplinary committee quickly fell, became rather grin ... "

The match ended in a draw (1-1). Unfortunately for SC Terville, this dearly earned point, the only one won this season by the team which has lost its other matches, has been withdrawn. The red lantern of the championship was indeed sentenced to two penalty points and a 200 euro fine for failing to meet its security obligations and for the lack of reaction from its leaders when the fight broke out.
