Dortmund-PSG: the club protests the treatment of its supporters in Germany

2020-02-19T15:39:43.567Z

Some of the 3,300 supporters spent five hours at the German border for particularly severe checks.

The movement of PSG supporters to Dortmund was not the most pleasant. And not only because of the defeat of Thomas Tuchel's men on the field of Borussia (2-1). It was more the zeal of the German authorities in controlling the 3,300 French who came to attend the meeting that annoyed. The club also cracked a protest on Wednesday.

"The PSG wishes to denounce the duration of the controls of the German border police against its fans, can we read on the official site. Retaining fans for more than five hours, making some of them arrive late at kickoff is not respectful for supporters who left at 2 am from Paris and who will return also by bus at night after the match ”.

In addition to the buses, a large proportion of supporters traveling in private cars were subjected to intensive searches as soon as they crossed the German border. "The club wonders about the content, the quality and the relevance of the exchanges of information between the French and German authorities which could have triggered the severity and the duration of this police operation", continues the PSG.

In its press release, the club of the capital also recalls that these very long checks "totally disorganized this long journey of supporters by bus including the delivery of tickets to a place outside the stadium organized by the club to facilitate this movement and finally did not not allow the deployment of the tifo prepared and transported from Paris ”. Gathered near Dortmund central station, supporters had joined the stadium on foot in a procession interrupted several times due to the use of smoke.
