The facts took place after a meeting of the 2nd district division between the amateur clubs of Terville and Soetrich on November 17

The confrontation had really escalated. An amateur player was suspended for five years by the Moselle district for an unusual attack after a football match: he had… bitten the sex of one of his opponents during a fight.

No tackle too supported nor insults to the referee: the disciplinary committee of the Mosellan district had to examine on January 30th on this new file and delivered a fairly harsh verdict.

The facts took place after a meeting of the 2nd district division between Terville and Soetrich on November 17. According to the Lorraine Actu website, which revealed the affair, two of the opponents began to fight and a third, a player from Terville, tried to separate them. It was at this point that the Soetrich player bit him into sex. Assessment, a dozen stitches and four days of temporary incapacity for work (ITT).

"This file was a bit crisp"

As this file was quite original, the Disciplinary Committee asked that an instructor be appointed to make the best of things and that we do not just testify, that we can have additional elements, "explained to AFP Emmanuel Saling, the director general of the district of Moselle, without being able to give precise details on the progress of the fight.

“Presumably the facts happened after the match, in the stadium parking lot. There was an argument, an escalation and things got worse, "he added, adding that the wrongs were" more or less shared ". The Moselle discipline committee suspended the player from Soetrich for five years. The injured Terville player was suspended six months.

Such a heavy penalty is quite rare

"It is quite rare to have sanctions of several years, there are less than ten a year," continued Mr. Saling. "It is certain that this file was a little crisp, but when we imagine the exit of the match, there must have been a nasty tension, so the smiles in the committee of discipline quickly fell, became rather grin…"

The match ended in a draw (1-1). Unfortunately for SC Terville, this dearly earned point, the only one won this season by the team which has lost its other matches, has been withdrawn. The red lantern of the championship was indeed sentenced to two penalty points and a 200 euro fine for failing to meet its security obligations and for the lack of reaction from its leaders when the fight broke out. Clubs can appeal.
