Antholz (dpa) - The German biathletes remained without a medal in the individual race of the World Championships over 20 kilometers in Antholz, Italy, after a weak appearance at the shooting range.
When Frenchman Martin Fourcade won ahead of Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Bö, Benedikt Doll was the 12th best German ski hunter on Wednesday after four shooting errors. Defending champion Arnd Peiffer took six penalty minutes and came in 50th place. "I didn't manage to get my gun calm at all. I'm very annoyed. One could say a disaster. I wanted to dig in," said the 32nd -Years in the ARD. Philipp Horn (4 mistakes / 21st place), Johannes Kühn (5/26) and Philipp Nawrath (47/5) also remained anything but faultless.
It was the twelfth world title for the five-time Olympic champion Fourcade. Austrian Dominik Landertinger would be third behind Johannes Thingnes Bö.
