THE SCAN SPORT - In Argentina, thousands of people demonstrated Tuesday to demand justice, a month after the death of an 18-year-old boy beaten by rugby players.

Demonstrations took place in Argentina on Tuesday, including in Buenos Aires and Villa Gesell, to seek justice a month after the death of an 18-year-old man beaten by rugby players. "The justice for my son would be to see the culprits in life imprisonment," said the mother of the victim, Graciela Sosa, during the demonstration in the Argentine capital. The eight suspects, aged 18 to 20, were placed in pre-trial detention, accused of having acted with "premeditation" to kill the young man, according to judge David Mancinelli. Defendants face life imprisonment if found guilty. The trial date has not yet been set.

On January 18, in front of a nightclub in the seaside resort of Villa Gesell, 370 km south of Buenos Aires, Fernando Baez Sosa was beaten to death by eight rugby players who filmed the scene before broadcasting it on the networks social. The video sparked outrage in Argentina, where other cases of violence, and even gang rape, involving rugby players had previously broken out.
