The story of the game between the handball players from HSG Isar-Loisach and TSV Peißenberg is quickly told. The HSG struggled for a long time against the brave Peißenberg women. Then the guests lost their strength, and in the end the much more athletic HSG women won 34:26 (15:14).

In the end, however, less was discussed about the result than rather an unsightly episode a few seconds before the end of the first half. The referee team decided on a free throw for the HSG. In front of Mona Klein, a whole wall of players built up. Before the referee released the game with a whistle, Klein took a swing and hit a Peißenberger lightly on the body. This made Nicole Kessler completely angry. She insulted Klein badly - and at a volume that none of the around 50 spectators in the Geretsried sports hall could miss. Klein looked puzzled and gave a short laugh. At that moment the referee stepped in and sent Kessler from the field with a red and blue card. The Peißenberger trudged out of the hall, had to listen to some comments from the audience and threw the gym door with a loud bang. Kessler now expects disciplinary proceedings and a ban of one to three games.

One can speculate how the game would have ended if Kessler could have played through to the end. With three goals she was one of the most successful throwers at the time of her exclusion and - in contrast to many of her teammates - also strong in running. The HSG had gone into the game with an unexpectedly strong squad, as the B juniors Janica Wrabel and Luisa Esch had surprisingly agreed at short notice. Wrabel always tried bravely from a distance and was the third most successful HSG scorer with three goals. Overall, the hosts' hit rate was not particularly high, and Peißenberg led with 14:13 after 28 minutes. "We threw the goalkeeper warm, our attempts were not so great," commented trainer Silvia Klein. Even after Kessler's exclusion, the game pointed to a button, after 42 minutes it was only 22:21 for the HSG. "But I never had the feeling that we could lose the game," says Klein. Due to the large squad, the HSG was able to run the opponents to the ground in the final phase. The consequence was a clear victory with an eight goal lead.

HSG Isar-Loisach: Klein 3, Friedrich 8 (0/1), Voth, Wrabel 3, Esch 1, Goß, Frank 2 (1/2), Mikulla 1, M. Klein 6, Imreskovic 2, Herrnböck 8 (1 / 1), Miricioiu.
