The golden ski of the city of Dachau, one of the traditional competitions of the alpine Dachau Ski District Cup competition, ended with a surprise. With Louisa Zimmer and David Baltes, both Grass Ski Club Dachau (GSC), two participants of the U 14 age group set the best time of the day; they won the main prize in one of the most popular and demanding alpine competitions in the region.

"This has never happened in the more than sixty-year history of golden skiing," said astonished Bernhard Sturm, the chairman of the host Ski Club Dachau (SCD). Youth research - that was the motto of this year's competition on the Sonnenbichl slope in Bad Wiessee.

The special thing about this race is the staging mode. The Golden Ski is a combination race consisting of a giant slalom and a slalom run.

The fact that slalom in particular poses a certain challenge has been demonstrated once again this year. After the stormy week leading up to the event, the weather meant well with the racing drivers. At almost spring-like temperatures, the piste was easy to grip and hard, on firm surfaces.

The route was flagged out this year by Herbert Mayer (SC Vierkirchen). Daniela Fuchs (SCD) was responsible for the race management.

The giant slalom had to be played on a shorter route. The run was smooth and offered fair conditions for all participants. The piste managers then set up a relatively narrow slalom for the second round in the quite demanding Sonnenbichl slope, on which even European Cup races are held.

In the women's classes, Louisa Zimmer's victory was already apparent after the first round. Louisa started the slalom run with a certain ease, she mastered the challenging pole dance with flying colors and was able to bring her lead safely to the finish.

Phillip Schmid from SC Odelzhausen had a head start in the men's slalom, but he couldn't take advantage of this. Like some other top riders, he stumbled in the Stangenwald, so he couldn't take the chance of winning the day.

David Baltes did better, with an excellent slalom run he won the day in both his age group and in the overall classification of the men's classes.

The host SC Dachau also had some remarkable success in Bad Wiessee. Emma Fuchs and Anton Sommer drove very bravely and courageously; they each managed to take second places in their U 8 and U 10 age groups.

Kai Tieskötter, fastest in the first round in the men's age group 1/2, finished third in the sum of the two results. another strong result for the SC-Dachau.
