The home game of the TSV Neuried futsal against the regional league bottom of the deaf SV Karlsruhe is a key game for both teams - and sometimes a reunion.
Neuried - Five games before the end of the season in the Futsal Regionalliga, TSV Neuried still has to worry about relegation. "No matter who it's against, in the end of the season there are only points that count," said coach Mathieu Jerzewski before the home game against the deaf SV Karlsruhe (Saturday, 5:30 pm, Am Sportpark).
The guests need an victory even more urgently. With 16 points, Neuried is in a non-relegation zone, just ahead of FC Penzberg, who has already played one more game. At the bottom, Karlsruhe, with only seven points, is already slightly behind. "For them it is one of their last chances to keep a tiny chance of staying in the league," said Jerzewski. He therefore expects the bottom of the table to be offensive.
TSV Neuried won 11-2 in the first leg
In the first leg at the beginning of November, the green-whites celebrated the highest win of the season so far with 11: 2. However, the Badeners were by no means inferior to the entire game. After a 2: 2 halftime score, the TSV shot into a frenzy only in the second round. Jerzewski makes it clear: "It won't be that easy in the second leg."
It is to be expected that the guests will approach the game full of vigor despite or perhaps because of the difficult starting position. Jerzewski knows the team well, with some players he played together in the German soccer deaf national team. "These are all highly motivated players who are willing to prove themselves despite hearing restrictions," he explains. Most recently, the Karlsruhe team succeeded with a 7: 7 against the fourth in the table, TV Wackersdorf, a surprising success.
Nevertheless, the TSV coach is optimistic, also because he identified tactical deficits in addition to individual class in the team consisting of a mixture of footballers and Futsalers.
Neuried trainer Jerzewski demands "absolute winning mentality"
Neuried was able to keep up well with the 6-10 defeat in the previous week by top team SSV Jahn Regensburg, especially in the first round. Jerzewski: "If we build on this, we have very good chances of getting the next points." He expects "a closed team effort with an absolute winning mentality" and the implementation of our own game philosophy.
However, the coach has to do without Pavlo Stohniienko (vacation), who is twice as successful against Regensburg. But goalkeeper Michele Pavan is likely to return between the posts after almost surviving an injury.
