Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Super talent Youssoufa Moukoko should appear for the German U19 national team for the first time in March.

The 15-year-old attacker from Borussia Dortmund will be in the squad for the youth team for a course and the subsequent European Championship qualifiers, as the German Football Association confirmed on Friday. The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported on it.

"We want the best to play for Germany, the comparison at a high international level brings the talents forward," said Meikel Schönweitz, head coach of the national teams at the DFB. Moukoko has scored 29 goals in 17 games for BVB's youth in the U19 Bundesliga this season. The DFB had for a long time "in close coordination between all parties involved" without Moukoko's nomination for the DFB teams, as Schönweitz said.

After Moukoko's first international matches in 2017 at the age of 14, there was enormous hype about the youngster. "Now we have jointly decided that the right time for the next development step at national team level has come," said Schönweitz. In March, Guido Streichsbier's U19 was preparing for the important European Championship qualifiers against Austria, Wales and Serbia at the end of the month during a course in Herzogenaurach. Only the group winners of this round qualify for the European Championship finals in Northern Ireland in July.
