The EC Peiting reminds more and more of the performances of the past season. Against Deggendorfer SC, the ECP celebrated its fifth win in a row.

Peiting - The ice hockey game in the championship round of the Oberliga Süd between Deggendorfer SC and EC Peiting is far from being high class. In the last third, however, Peiting plays big and has the better end for itself. After a strong race to catch up, the Peitinger win 6: 3 at the DEL2 relegation team and expand their winning streak to five.

The beginning of the game is contested. Playfully, both teams still have room for improvement. The first opportunity is given to Anton Saal (2nd), who in number does not hit the puck optimally. After that, the DSC, which has to do without Andrew Schembri and Kyle Osterberg, gets better. Andreas Magg is getting more and more to do in the ECP gate. He can parry some of the host's degrees. When Peiting is outnumbered, the goalie has to accept the first goal. Andreas Gawlik (16th) leads the DSC by direct acceptance. Deggendorf adds just over a minute later. Curtis Leinweber (17th) deflects a shot to 2-0. Shortly before the first break of the third, the ECP is again outnumbered. But with one man less on the ice, Peiting succeeded in making the connection. Nardo Nagtzaam and Ty Morris conquer the disc and switch quickly. Nagtzaam plays a great pass to his fellow striker and Morris (20th) keeps calm in front of the goal - 1: 2.

In the final section, Peiting turns the game

In the second phase of the game, the DSC is more committed and puts the ECP under pressure early on. For this good phase, the Deggendorfers reward themselves with the goal to 3: 1. When Peiting is in the power play, Johannes Brunner (25th) intercepts the disc and completes his solo run with a placed shot. The Peitingers lack the ease of past games. The team of coach Sebastian Buchweiser still comes to the next goal. Morris fakes a shot worth seeing for 2: 3 (32nd). The game does not get any better, however. It remains gruff and torn. Dangerous goal opportunities are rare. Deggendorf is a little bit better, but cannot stand out.

The ECP knows how to use this. In the last third of the game, less than two minutes have passed when Morris strikes again. With his third goal, the veteran made it 3: 3. And that's not all. Peiting turns the game. Only the DSC leaves a good opportunity unused. In return, Peiting's captain Andreas Feuerecker (47.) hits. With a low shot he brings the ECP into the lead for the first time in the encounter. With a lot of skill and a good goalkeeper, Peiting defends the lead and then goes on again. After a fine individual performance, Florian Stauder scores 5: 3 (57th). Nagtzaam, Peiting's top scorer, ensures the final score of 6: 3.

After the 5-3 win on Friday against Selb, it was the second six-point weekend in a row for Peiting.
