The Syrian men's basketball team beat its Saudi counterpart by 75-70 points in the match they gathered today in Al-Jawhara Hall in Jeddah within the first window of the qualifying rounds for the Asian Championship that will be held in the Indian city of Bangalore next year.
Our team, which plays in the fifth group that also includes Iran and Qatar, opened its qualifying campaign with a loss to Iran, 48-94 points.
The qualifiers include six groups in which each team competes four teams, where the first and second of each group qualify directly at the conclusion of the Asian qualifiers to the Asian Championship so that the total of the qualifiers is twelve teams while the teams that occupy the third place in the six groups play periodically from one stage from which four teams qualify To the Asian Cup with a total of 16 teams.
