The TEV Miesbach wins in Erding in the ice hockey gear round between Oberliga and Bayernliga. Goalkeeper Timon Ewert celebrates a shutout.

Erding - It is a victory that feels really good for TEV Miesbach. In the duel between the two table neighbors, the district town winners cleared 4-0 in the end at the Erding Gladiators on Friday evening. "I am very relieved because we have had a difficult period lately," admits Miesbach's coach Peter Kathan. This means that TEV cracks can no longer be denied qualification for the playoffs. In addition, the Miesbachers have taken an important step in the fight for home law in the playoffs.

One reason for the important threesome in Erding was probably the personnel situation, which had relaxed considerably before the game on Friday evening. After the injury problems recently, several regulars returned to the squad against the gladiators. Athanassios Fissekis was also back in the lineup. Among the returnees was also Timon Ewert, who hadn't been 100% fit lately. For the 29-year-old, it was a special game in two respects. After all, Ewert laced up his skates even in Erding for three years and the TEV goalkeeper caught a real cream day on his comeback.

Above all in the initial phase, Ewert was in focus at his old place of work. "In the first third, we weren't sure yet," says Kathan. "But Timon held up really well today." Ewert successfully stood in the way of the Erdinger attacks and prevented the hosts from leading early.

A short time later, the opening third came to an abrupt end. After a duel between TEV defender Johannes Bacher and his Erdinger opponent, the goal flew out of his anchorage. The result: the third end was brought forward and the two minutes of the first third caught up on the ice after the break. That seemed to get the Miesbachers better. Shortly after an Erdinger overpower situation had expired, Franz Mangold circled the window into the Erdinger Tor for the 1-0 lead for the guests. However, Mangold's shot was deflected.

At the same time the start of a strong Miesbach phase. After the initial difficulties "we were just a little smarter," says Kathan. This was also reflected in the result in the further course. First Sebastian Deml hammered the puck into the net for 2: 0, before Mangold again hit the 3: 0 shortly afterwards. Immediately before the second break siren - which meanwhile sounded as planned - Miesbach's Filip Kokoska marked the 4: 0 and gave the district residents a comfortable tour.

"It was very important for us today," says Kathan. “First of all, we wanted to reach sixth place, we did that. If things go higher in the table, we will of course take it with us. ”One thing is certain: the Miesbach team were no longer in contention for the important away win in the third third and are thus right in the middle of the race for home rights in the playoffs. Also thanks to a strong Timon Ewert in the Miesbacher Kasten. MARKUS EHAM
