The finale is on the agenda at the Biathlon World Championships in Antholz, Italy. Medals are awarded at the Bobsleigh World Championships in Altenberg. There is a boycott among tobogganists in Winterberg.
Berlin (AP) - The final races at the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz and the Bobsleigh World Cup in Altenberg are the focus of the winter sports day.
BIATHLON
World Championships in Antholz, Italy
Mass start, women
12.30 p.m. (ARD and Eurosport)
Mass start, men
3 p.m. (ARD and Eurosport)
Do the two relay medals inspire the eight German ski hunters at the World Cup final in mass start? If the ladies in the World Cup had not performed so well before, they could convince with three silver medals from Denise Herrmann in the pursuit, Vanessa Hinz in the singles and the relay. Franziska Preuss is also very trustworthy after her fabulous season appearance. If it finally works for men at the shooting range, the first individual medal is also there for them. Erik Lesser, Olympic champion Arnd Peiffer and World Cup debutant Philipp Horn were convincing in relay bronze - only final runner Benedikt Doll couldn't manage. World Cup substitute Lesser did not qualify for the mass start. The 31-year-old is now ending his season. Johannes Kühn is the fourth German ski hunter in the field of the 30 best, Karolin Horchler is also among the women.
BOB
World Championships in Altenberg, Saxony
Two-man bob, men

At the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships in Altenberg, Francesco Friedrich is the first bobsleigh pilot to want to secure the world title in two-man bobsleigh for the sixth time in a row. Before the final two races, the local hero from BSC Sachsen Oberbärenburg leads the competition with a lead of almost a second. Behind the 29-year-old double Olympic champion of 2018, the three other German starters took second to fourth place in Nico Walther, Johannes Lochner and Richard Oelsner.
ALPINE SKIING

Super combination, ladies
10.30 a.m. / 1.30 p.m. (ARD and Eurosport)

World Cup in Naeba, Japan
Slalom, men
2:00 a.m. 1st round (DAZN and Eurosport) 5:00 a.m. 2nd round (DAZN and Eurosport)
After Alexander Schmid was the German sole entertainer in the giant slalom, a DSV quintet started at the slalom in Japan. Linus Straßer has the greatest chances of being placed in the front, but he has also recently failed to deliver good results. Fritz Dopfer, Sebastian Holzmann, David Ketterer and Dominik Stehle are also registered.
SKICROSS
World Cup in Sunny Valley, Russia
9 a.m. / 1 p.m. Finals women and men
Daniela Maier from Urach qualified fourth best for the final of the ski crossers on Sunday. For the men, four drivers reached the finals of the best 32 in Tobias Baur, Daniel Bohnacker, Ferdinand Dorsch and Florian Wilmsmann.
TOBOGGANING
World Cup in Winterberg
Doubles / Team Relay
09.05 / 13.30 (ARD)
The second day of the controversial World Cup in Winterberg takes place without German participation. Since all three double-seater teams from Germany will not start, the team relay will also be canceled. This has little meaning for the overall World Cup, as the two best German two-seaters Toni Eggert / Sascha Benecken and Tobias Wendl / Tobias Arlt make up the overall victory in the finals at Königssee.
NORDIC COMBINATION
Singles, gentlemen
World Cup in Trondheim, Norway
Jump 10 a.m. (Eurosport 2)
Ten-kilometer run at 4 p.m. (ARD and Eurosport)
For the Nordic combiners from national coach Hermann Weinbuch, it is primarily against Dominator Jarl Magnus Riiber, who can hardly be taken off the yellow jersey during the rest of the season. For team Olympic champions Vinzenz Geiger, Fabian Rießle and Co., the key to a podium is on the ski jump. After the individual in Trondheim on Sunday there will be combined at World Cups in Lahti, Oslo and Schonach.
SKI JUMPING
Single, women
World Cup in Ljubno, Slovenia
11.30 a.m. 1st round
12.30 p.m. 2nd round
After the rather sobering team jumping, in which Katharina Althaus saved the German quartet fourth place, the ski jumpers want to do better in the individual. Althaus in particular is considered a candidate for a podium in Ljubno, Slovenia.

Persecution, men and women
Ski tour in Trondheim, Norway
