In an online petition entitled "Gerry Ehrmann stays with the FCK", over 1600 people signed up to Monday morning. It also says: "Nobody fires our legend - he is the FCK!" In addition, the third division football team is massively criticized on social networks.

The Palatinate had confirmed on Sunday that goalkeeper idol Ehrmann must go. The keeper stood between the posts at FCK between 1984 and 1998 and later helped goalkeepers such as Kevin Trapp, Tim Wiese and Roman Weidenfeller to a Bundesliga or national team career.
According to dpa information, the 61-year-old had fallen out with coach Boris Schommers. "The club was forced to take this step after a series of internal events that made targeted and team-oriented cooperation for the benefit of the club no longer possible," said the FCK. Ehrmann has been a goalkeeper coach in Lautern since 1996 and is an absolute favorite with the public. In times of crisis, fans regularly chant: "Except Ehrmann, you can all go."
