LE SCAN SPORT - The 3,000 Turin fans are authorized to travel to Lyon for the eighth leg of the Champions League between OL and Juventus on Wednesday.

Wednesday evening, the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League between OL and Juventus will be played well with the 3,000 Turin fans. While northern Italy is affected by the coronavirus, in particular Lombardy, Veneto and Piedmont, of which Turin is the capital, seven deaths and more than 200 cases of infected people have been identified.

Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health, raised the subject on Tuesday morning on RTL : "Should collective events be stopped? Should we stop Fashion Week? Should we stop the matches? Should universities be closed? The answer is no. There are no scientific and medical arguments today that lead us to stop collective events of this nature, one because the virus does not circulate in France, and two because the cases are now circumscribed in Italy."

Olympique Lyonnais has not spoken publicly on the subject, but it will have to comply with the decisions of the public authorities. No preventive or quarantine measures have been taken to accommodate the 3,000 supporters and 68 Italian journalists at Groupama Stadium. Contacted by Le Figaro , the Rhone club explained that "the measures, if there are any, will be taken by UEFA on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health".

Many closed doors in Serie A

This weekend, four Serie A matches were postponed, as was the Six Nations Tournament match between Italy and Scotland. While the Italian government has decided to ban sporting events until Sunday, March 1, a waiver has been granted for the meetings to take place behind closed doors, including the long-awaited derby between Juventus and Inter Milan , which will be played on Sunday evening at the end of the 26th day of Serie A.
