Convincing appearance in Memmingen: SC Riessersee wins at Memminger Hühnerberg and is only one point away from fourth.

Memmingen - Successes promote athletes' self-confidence. With this confidence in your own abilities, the appearance of an entire team changes. If it is missing, the game is characterized by mistakes, nervousness and uncertainties. All these factors have been forgotten for six games at SC Riessersee. The SCR plays with the self-image of a successful ice hockey team. Even more, the Garmisch-Partenkirchner are the team of the hour in the Oberliga Süd. While top teams like Deggendorf and Memmingen weaken, the SCR shows strong moves, which it converts into goals with quick combinations. The Memmingen Indians also felt this yesterday evening. The white-blue came back from the Allgäu with a 4: 1 success.

Ease in the game

With Daniel Fießinger in the gate, the SCR started. Quiet, considerate - but with the usual early pressing. This led to success after around five minutes. Eetu-Ville Arkiomaa conquered the disc behind the Memminger box, played on Dennis Lobach, who appeared completely free in front of Memmingen's closing man Jochen Vollmer - 1-0 for the SCR. A typical SCR goal: "At the moment we simply have the necessary lightness in our game," said coach George Kink. The hosts, on the other hand, noticed the weak form. If they appeared in front of Fiessinger, he did his job. The Werdenfels continued to set the pace. Moritz Miguez sank one of her lightning-like counterparts to the 2-0 lead.

Playing a fast disc was not possible at the beginning of the second third. But that was not due to the host or the SCR. The underground was to blame. After the whistle, there was too much water on the freshly prepared ice. But even that didn't get Garmisch-Partenkirchner out of the concept. They outnumbered the Indians on the defensive. Uli Maurer put back on Silvan Heiß. It pulled off the blue line. Slammed the puck in front of the gate. Victor Östling held the racket decisively and steered the disc to 3: 0 in the goal. Memmingen always had problems with the Maurer, Arkiomaa and Lobach series in particular. But then the supposed connection hit fell. But referee Markus Wohlgemuht had something against it. He recognized an offside position and stopped the Indian cheers.

Finally, in the third section, the door to door melody sounded on Memminger Hühnerberg. The league's top scorer, Brad Snetsinger, had struck. It reduced to 1: 3. If the Memmingen had short-term hope to return to the game, Simon Mayr destroyed it. With his hit he restores the old distance. For the second time that evening, the SCR is taking advantage of an opponent's penalty time freezing cold. The Werdenfels skilfully managed the lead. Cleverly held the disc and played the fast pass into the top when needed. These are all skills that nobody at Garmisch-Partenkirchner would have expected a few weeks ago. But success is still the best medicine to shake off uncertainty and mistakes. The SCR has done it and now even sees the top of the championship round table. They are six points behind the Indians. But Kink doesn't look all the way up: "We're squinting in fourth place."
