It was a hanging game for weeks, but now all the papers are there: With Kaan Aygün (23), an ex-football professional is now chasing goals for VfB Hallbergmoos.
Hallbergmoos - The Munich-born footballer with Turkish roots is known in the region from a not so happy guest appearance at FC Ismaning. There Aygün was injured for a long time, but had nine goals in nine Bayern league games.
Previously, he was a BayernLiga regular at SSV Jahn Regensburg II, so he brings the experience of 69 BayernLiga appearances (eleven goals) to Hallbergmoos.
The player has now been in the 2nd and 3rd league of Turkey for a year and a half, tried three clubs there and has been without a club since November 2019. On the last day of the winter transfer window, VfB Hallbergmoos had the chance, and after striking at the last minute, the long wait followed. The sports director Anselm Küchle had done his homework, but only now did the necessary papers from the Turkish association come.
Kaan Aygün is now in the right place for Küchle and coach Gedi Sugzda, because the newcomer is a trained outside striker who can be used in a variety of ways. Since VfB had hardly any strikers ready for action, Aygün is planned right in the front line. "But it can be used flexibly, and that's how we want to treat it," says Küchle about the second new winter entry after Simon Werner (Heimstetten).
Both are eligible to play if VfB contests their final for participation in the Bavarian Toto Cup 2020/21 on Saturday, February 29, 2 p.m. at 1. FC Sonthofen.
