Yacht club Seeshaupt receives special award

The yacht club Seeshaupt was there with a large contingent at the award ceremony of the Bavarian Sailing Association. After all, it was a matter of receiving a special award.

There was great joy among athletes, coaches and officials: The Yacht Club Seeshaupt (YCSS) received the youth sponsorship award at the recent championship of the Bavarian Sailing Association. Youth leader Walter von Schorlemer accepted the award in the presence of numerous young sailors from the club in Ottobrunn.

In his eulogy, BSV sports director Timo Haß recognized the commitment of the Seeshaupt club. “What impressed me the most was how the club has managed to maintain the level of its youth work for years and not to be subject to the usual fluctuations. Young sailors find a home here, from beginners to competitive athletes, ”says Haß. Currently seven athletes who have learned to sail at YCSS are active in the sailing Bundesliga.

A great sporting success for the Seeshaupter last year was Florian Krauss' win of the German U-17 championship title in the 420 class. At the World Cup, he finished sixth in his age group. It is the second time since 2006 for the Seeshaupt residents that they have been awarded the Youth Promotion Prize.
