Dusseldorf (dpa) - Hertha BSC sent a sign of life in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga and surprisingly conquered another point after a 0: 3 deficit at Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The Berliners radically rebuilt after the 0: 5 against 1. FC Köln won a 3: 3 (0: 3) with their direct competitors on Friday evening and are now six points away from relegation place 16. For the hosts, Kenan Karaman (6th and 45th + 1 minute) and Erik Thommy (10th), who scored an own goal in the 64th minute, met in the exciting game. Matheus Cunha (67.) and Krzysztof Piatek (75./Foulelfmeter) made for the deserved draw in front of 31,632 spectators.
Dusseldorf remains on relegation place 16 due to the happy draw in the end. Hertha coach Alexander Nouri made seven changes in his starting line-up after the desolate defeat against Cologne.
