World Cup in Hinterstoder, Austria
Alpine combination, men
Slalom 10.00 a.m. (Eurosport and sportschau.de) Super-G 1.30 p.m. (Eurosport and sportschau.de)
The start of the World Cup in Hinterstoder is about a small crystal ball: the combination is the last of three winter events. Alexis Pinturault is favorite, the Frenchman has a 68-point advantage over the Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde in the discipline classification. Thomas Dreßen, Andreas Sander and Romed Baumann were reported for the German team - however, the three should use the station wagon primarily as a test drive for the Super-G on Saturday.
SKI JUMPING
Men, World Cup in Lahti, Finland
5.30 p.m. (ARD and Eurosport)
At the start of the competition trip in Finland, the ski jumpers will have the qualification followed by an individual competition. The German contingent is led by Karl Geiger, second overall in the World Cup. With a win and a second place last weekend in Rasnov, Romania, the 27-year-old from Oberstdorf showed that he can be expected with the leading Austrian Stefan Kraft in the duel for the yellow jersey. "I like being there, I'm looking forward to Lahti," said Geiger before the World Cup. Ruka jumping, which was canceled at the beginning of the season, will be made up for this Friday - therefore, three competitions will take place on three consecutive days.
