After the decision taken on Friday by the mayor and the director of the Compiègne racecourse (Oise) to organize the races behind closed doors on Monday, the same will apply to Chantilly the next day. Despite the restrictions announced late Saturday morning by the government concerning Lamorlaye (Oise), a neighboring town and place for horse training, the decision was made at the very end of the afternoon. Thoroughbreds will therefore perform without an audience, only those around them (traveling boys, trainers, jockeys, etc.) and other people present for professional reasons will be allowed to access the Princes de Condé racecourse.
Earlier today, the same decision was made regarding the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse (Alpes-Maritimes). In this case, it is not a city particularly affected by the epidemic like Lamorlaye but the proximity to Italy. The meetings of March 3 and 7, as well as that of the Criterium de Vitesse de la Côte d'Azur (Gr. I) scheduled for next Sunday will therefore also take place in small groups.
