SV Sulzemoos wants to leave the relegation battle in the new year and ensure relegation. The better personnel ceiling after the winter break gives hope.
SV Sulzemoos' summer preparation for the 2019/2020 season in the Northern District League was bumpier than hoped for, a relegation delegation place for the winter break was the result. So that the district league dino doesn't descend after 17 years, he is preparing intensively for his last 13 season games.
With a barely changed squad, but with great commitment, because it started well before the official start of preparation in early February. "The boys kept themselves fit during the entire break with a winter competition," says Markus Wagenpfeil, the SVS team manager.
"It is not a comparison to summer preparation"
The players are given certain requirements for their jogging runs that they have to meet. “Because of the competitive nature, the guys really hit the jackpot. Everyone does their units and this is of course very beneficial for our fitness level in winter, ”says Wagenpfeil.
This is not the only reason why Wagenpfeil sees Sulzemooser on the right path. “It is not a comparison to summer preparation. We are significantly better positioned again, ”said the team manager. And further: “We are lucky that some long-term injuries have also returned. That helps us a lot. As a result, and thanks to our new additions, the participation is very high - as it should be. ”In summer 2019, things were different.
Kökner and Musick attack
The two newcomers are Yasin Kökner and Markus Musick. While Musick has had a long break for professional reasons, he last defended in the 2016/2017 season for FC Aich, Kökner gained experience at Herakles Munich and SC Fürstenfeldbruck district league.
“Yasin's strengths are one on one. It can be used flexibly offensively on the wing and is very technically well-versed, ”says Wagenpfeil.
Crown bill "makes a good impression"
In the 2-2 in the preparatory game against SC Unterpfaffenhofen, Kökner was one of the SVS goalscorers alongside Simon Zacherl. Wagenpfeil was also satisfied with the performance in the other tests, including the 3: 1 against SV Nord Lerchenau and the 4: 0 against MTV Berg - even if the informative value is of course not particularly high: "Test matches in preparation are difficult to rate. Many players are used in different positions, ”said Wagenpfeil.
Alexander Kronschnabl is one of the SVS kickers who have been the most positive so far. The midfielder has not been able to play this season due to injury. That should change after the winter break. "Alex makes a good impression," says Wagenpfeil.
Bilal Solanke still needs time
Bilal Solanke is not yet ready for his comeback. The best goal scorer of the Sulzemooser and one of the best strikers in the Northern District League is carefully rebuilt after his cruciate ligament rupture. "He has to cure himself completely. It will be some time before he is back on the field, ”reports the SVS team manager.
Solanke therefore did not travel to the training camp in Turkey. There coach Peter Held worked with his players on form and team spirit. "It was great. We traveled to Turkey with almost the entire squad and had great conditions there, ”said Wagenpfeil. And further: “We were particularly pleased that many fans also started the trip. We were there with over 60 people. The team really welded that together again. "
The goal is direct relegation
The only bad news is the departure of Quirin Jürgens. The striker changed back to Neuhadern after half a year at SVS. “Quirin doesn't have time to train due to his shift work. In Neuhadern, he will probably support the third team without training, ”said Wagenpfeil.
Even without Jürgens, the team manager sees the team on the right path to closing the two-point gap to eleventh place and making it straight to relegation. "The impressions are very positive," said Wagenpfeil two and a half weeks before the start of the point game on March 14 against the direct competitor FC Schwabing (12th place).
