In total confusion, the former ice dance champion, Nathalie Péchalat was elected this Saturday as new president of the French Federation of Ice Sports (FFSG), and thus succeeds Didier Gailhaguet, who reigned over French skating almost continuously for more than two decades, since 1998 (except between 2004 and 2007), but which was forced to resign in early February, after a scandal of sexual violence that hit the federation hard. At 36, Nathalie Péchalat was the only candidate to stand for election today, the other three having asked for the postponement because of the coronavirus epidemic.
