The Italian manufacturer, whose activity has been frozen due to the health crisis, wishes to contribute to the care of victims of the coronavirus.

With more than 3,400 dead already, Italy is the country to pay the highest price in the global health crisis linked to the coronavirus. On the other side of the Alps, hospital services are overwhelmed and lack resources. In this context of absolute emergency, a flagship of Italian industry, Ferrari, shows its solidarity by offering its services. The legendary manufacturer, whose Maranello factory is currently closed in compliance with the rules of containment, offers to reopen its doors to manufacture parts necessary for the proper functioning of the respiratory devices used by hospitals to treat patients with the virus and placed in intensive care.

Ferrari, FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) and auto component maker Magneti Marelli talk to Siare Engineering International, the leading Italian manufacturer of medical ventilators based in Valsamoggia (Bologna), how they could help increase production of these essential devices to hospitals. Part of their production could in particular be carried out at the Maranello factory. “We will either help them at home or take out part of the production. Or we will do both ”, explains to Corriere della Sera Exor, the holding company of the Agnelli family which controls FCA and Ferrari.
