Berlin (dpa) - For Sebastian Vettel it is no longer all about racing.
"Not that my passion would have diminished - not at all! But you just look outside the box. The horizon widens and you get more with it," said the Formula 1 driver in one of the specialist portal "motorsport-total .com "published interview.
He had been traveling around the world in his job for more than ten years and had thought a lot. "New interests are developing. You just get more mature over time," said Vettel in the conversation that was held shortly before the Formula 1 season opener was canceled the previous week.
The 32-year-old is now more often concerned with the time after his career. "It would be stupid to ignore that. But that doesn't mean that I get up every morning and wonder what I'll be doing in five years. I'm very relaxed about it," said the Ferrari driver.
He was fortunate to be able to try out a lot after his Formula 1 career. "I can drive other races, maybe do something different in motorsport or do something completely different," said the four-time world champion. Vettel added that he already had some ideas, but was still undecided.
Because of the Coronavius pandemic, the premier class of motorsport is currently also at a break until at least the end of May. Vettel's Ferrari team has been on vacation since Thursday after Formula 1 had preferred the racing break planned for August.
