Forst - For years the SC Forst has been fighting for survival in the Landesliga more or less from the beginning. In the recent season, the "Nature Boyz" made it particularly exciting. It was only in the last game of the relegation round that the SCF made it to the top of the league with a sheer 6: 5 win at TSV Farchant. "It was a really tough game, as Farchant really didn't give us anything," said SCF ice hockey boss Lorenz Barfüßer after the tremor. "The team then celebrated as if they had made it up," Barfüßer said. "The end was okay, the season less," summed up the Forster ice hockey boss.

The “Nature Boyz” started the season under difficult conditions because experienced players such as Martin Burger or Daniel Ebentheuer had stopped and almost exclusively young and inexperienced players were available to replace them. "The quality in the squad was not there," admitted Barfüßer. Another problem was quickly a high failure rate. "We were extremely unlucky with injuries," reported Barfüßer. The hospital was well filled all season. “I usually only had eight to nine people in training. It's difficult to practice tactical stories, ”said coach Stefan Roth, who celebrated his premiere as an adult coach. "I learned a lot, but the team also made it easy for me," Roth praised the good cooperation and team spirit at "Nature Boyz".

After this apprenticeship year, the 39-year-old will leave the club again. Roth changes to league competitor ESV Burgau. “There are other options there. The aim of the Burgauer is to reach the championship round, ”Roth says for sporting reasons for his change. "We need a trainer first," says Barfüßer as the main task for the next few weeks. "At least we have planning security when it comes to 'league membership'," said Barfüßer. He is relieved that the Forsters, unlike many other clubs that could not finish the season, are clear that they will compete in the Landesliga again. "Of course, this abrupt season end for everyone does not make it easy when looking for players, because suddenly every club starts to put together the squad and we are at the end of the food chain," said Barfüßer. He expects problems to find suitable staff. "The atmosphere in the team was always good, so I'm confident that there will be a better season," said Forsts chairman.
