There is currently a transfer stop in the ice hockey league. Before that, Florian Stauder's move from EC Peiting to EV Füssen became known.
Peiting - Eleven years ago, ice hockey player Florian Stauder switched from SC Riessersee to EC Peiting. In 413 league games he scored 157 goals and prepared 127. But now the striker changes to league competitor EV Füssen. In the interview, the 28-year-old, who works as a lifeguard and has a one-year-old son, talks about his time in Peiting, his move - and a possible return.
Mr. Stauder, the play-offs have failed. This is definitely not the end of the season that you want when you leave a club after such a long time.
Yes that's true. But what can you do. It was difficult for all of us, you work on it all the time. But that's the way it is.
Why are you leaving EC Peiting?
I had 11 wonderful years here. But now is the time to do something different. I wanted to try something new, get to know new players and a new game system.
Why did you choose Füssen?
Because it's closest to Peiting. I have a family, my son will be two in August. I also work. So I didn't want to go far.
What do you want to achieve with feet in the coming season?
I don't expect anything at first. I don't even know my teammates yet. I see what is possible when I stand on the ice in feet.
That should take a while. How do you keep fit?
You can't do much at the moment. I mainly train in my basement.
Which season in Peiting do you particularly like to think back on?
Of course, the play-off semi-final against Tilburg 2016 was special. But actually I had a good season at EC Peiting every year. The mood in the small Gallic village just fits.
And still you go away?
Of course it was a difficult decision. But that's the business. I'm trying something new now. And the fact that I am leaving now does not mean that I will not come back to Peiting at some point.
