Leipzig (dpa) - RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann assumes that the Bundesliga and the Champions League will be ended. However, there is the problem of reconciling the demands of the national and European leagues.
"The problem is that there is no synchronicity. The national leagues take precedence and then we will probably end it all - but in a completely different constellation and at a completely different time than we are planning and accustomed to," said the 32-year-old of the MDR program "Sport in the East". Maybe there will be games in July or August: "But we'll see what the future holds."
The Bundesliga is at least until April 30 because of the Corona crisis. Nagelsmann hopes to continue playing in the foreseeable future, because financial aspects also play a decisive role. "Football is also an industry that only works when business is running. And doing business with a football company is just playing football," he said.
Nagelsmann hopes that the crisis will reduce the financial excesses in professional football to a normal level. "Maybe there will be a regulation, maybe the industry will become healthier. At the moment I can’t imagine it fully, I'm honest, but maybe at some point, depending on how long it all lasts," said Nagelsmann and added: " Maybe then there is no other way than doing certain things differently and doing business healthier.
