TSV Dorfen has introduced its trainer for the new season. Christoph Deißenböck from Lower Bavaria will take over the district league team.

Dorfen - The soccer department of TSV Dorfen is already busy planning for the new 2020/21 season: What is certain is that Christoph Deißenböck from Neumarkt St. Veit will be the district league's new coach. This was confirmed by the technical director Markus Wetzel of our newspaper.

Since the surprising departure of ex-coach Christian Donbeck in January (we reported), the duo Sascha Hänle and Günter Schatz have been training from their own ranks until the end of the season - whenever that is. At the end of the winter break it was clear that the TSV needed a new trainer for the coming season, says 2nd department head Berni Schöberl. The football management therefore tried early on to find a coach. Thanks to Wetzel's personal contacts, they finally found what they were looking for at Deißenböck.

The talks went very well

The talks with the new trainer were “very good from the start. That worked out, ”reports Wetzel. The technical manager knows Deißenböck from his own time in the A-youth at TSV Buchbach. There the new coach was his trainer eleven years ago. Even then, “the chemistry was right,” recalls Wetzel.

Christoph Deißenböck lives in Neumarkt St. Veit in Lower Bavaria. The father of two children is a professional warehouse manager for a sleep system manufacturer. His athletic career began as a youth player in his home country. His career as an offensive player (striker) for men ended after only a few years: "Problems with the knee," says the 38-year-old today. He always played football and at the time, when he was 22, he didn't want to give up his sport. In order to stay on the ball, he started his second career as a trainer and acquired the C and B license.

District league is new territory for Deißenböck

The district league is still uncharted territory for Deißenböck, because up until now he had always coached district classes and district league teams. He also knows "Dorfen not like that". But he is looking forward to the new challenge and to the district league: "It starts there that football is played properly."

He will continue to pursue his attitude as a coach in Isenstadt: "Play offensively, score goals and win games." At TSV, he also wants to continue the existing club philosophy and bring young players of his own to the team and advance them.

As a junior coach, Deißenböck had his first experience with the local club and trained the Buchbacher U19 and the second. Other positions as a men's coach in the district class and district league were three seasons each at TSV Neumarkt St. Veit, FC Perach and TSV Reischach. "It was the nicest in Neumarkt so far," reveals Deißenböck.

Regarding the general situation at TSV, Schöberl and Wetzel explain that they have "regular contact with the players". At the moment, “everyone kept themselves individually fit”, according to the exercises given by Trainer Schatz. The “majority of the team” had already promised to kick back to Dorfen next season, the technical manager affirmed. Work is already underway on the preparation plan for the 2020/21 season. "All players and coaches" would have foregone financial claims during the soccer-free Corona break. Wetzel and Schöberl praise the great cohesion that there was "an absolute understanding" among all those affected.
