Tom Dempsey, football legend died tonight (between Saturday and Sunday) in Louisiana at the age of 73 from the Corona virus. Dempsey contracted the virus last month in addition to another 14 people who resided like him in a nursing home in New Orleans. As of last Sunday, 12,400 corona cases were uncovered in New Orleans and 153 deaths were recorded.
Dempsey, who was born without his right foot and without the fingers of his right hand, a special shoe boot made for him during his NFL career.
Dempsey entered league history when, in 1970, he kicked a 63-yard field goal in a New Orleans Saints game against Detroit. The mighty record was broken by Matt Parter of the Denver Broncos in 2013.
