There are personalities who shape an association and leave a gap when they leave us. Rainer Hübner was one of them at VfB Hallbergmoos, the "red Hübner", as he was called in his active time as a right wing man because of his hair color.

There are personalities who shape an association and leave a gap when they leave us. Rainer Hübner was one of them at VfB Hallbergmoos, the "red Hübner", as he was called in his active time as a right wing man because of his hair color.

On March 30, he closed his eyes forever at the age of 78.

Hübner was a veteran of the football department, who initially found his way to Hallbergmoos together with a few other kickers from the Bundeswehr in Freising. In the 1960s, he was one of the leading players at VfB when he competed in the B class. Technically adept and as a powerful shot, he was an important asset for the team. But he has also made a name for himself as a referee since 1971. As a fair and strict impartial, he was so highly valued in many clubs that he was asked for particularly important or heated games. He was also a line judge at games in the 2nd Bundesliga and Bayernliga. Until the retirement age he stood as a referee, the SRG Freising even made him an honorary member. In 2014 he was also honored by VfB for his 50-year membership.

Footballers help in the region

You will miss him, the tall and humorous man who for many years had followed the action on the square as a spectator and commented with a lot of expertise. His willingness to help, his comradely behavior and his experience in the club business will always be remembered by his companions. cob
