Madrid (dpa) - The Spanish football professional Álvaro Odriozola is already planning to say goodbye to FC Bayern and return to Real Madrid.
"I feel very much that (real coach Zinedine) Zidane trusts me and I have no doubt that my time (in Madrid) will come," said the 24-year-old right-back in an interview with the newspaper "Marca". Bayern had loaned the four-time senior international in January until the end of the season.
But the man from the Basque Country emphasized: "I live in the present and have to think of Bavaria until the end of the season." He wanted to assert himself in Munich after initial difficulties. Since his arrival in Munich, he has played only two out of ten competitive games, once he was in the starting XI. "I have 100 percent confidence in myself," he said. The "decisive third of the season" is still pending. He wants to fight "when the world situation has normalized again."
The player admitted that football is currently "only in second, third or fourth place" because of the Corona crisis. "Or even behind it." In summer he wanted to talk to Coach Zidane. "I want to know what he thinks of me. But I repeat: I feel Zidane's affection and respect," said Odriozola.
At Real, he couldn't get past national team colleague Dani Carvajal. Next season, the competition on the right defensive position should be even bigger, because it is certain that Dortmund professional Achraf Hakimi will also return to Real.
