"There are no extra permits for us. We can't get in anywhere," said the former world champion from Saxony to the German Press Agency, adding with a view to the start of the right training: "In May you can still do a lot yourself. But Shooting and going to the weight room would be good. "
The 31-year-old is currently keeping fit with running and cycling in her adopted home town of Ruhpolding. Like her teammates, she doesn't have access to the weight room or the shooting range. The ski hunters traditionally start preparing for the coming winter on May 1st. However, it is still completely open when and where the first courses can take place. "And if we can't go shooting, it will be difficult," said ex-cross-country skier Herrmann.
It becomes more critical with a view to the altitude preparation, which normally takes place in the Alps in July or August. It would be "stupid" if this could not take place, said Herrmann. However, she also has a lot of understanding for the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic and, in general, summer athletes would be much more affected by the problems. "We are a sport that gets through a lot of training resources," said Herrmann, adding: "You can still move relatively freely and as long as you can still do sport, it is still reasonably good."
