London (dpa) - Formula 1 extends the compulsory factory holidays by another two weeks because of the coronavirus pandemic. The prescribed break, in which no work on the development of the racing cars is allowed, will be extended from 21 to 35 days, according to a statement by the world association Fia.
This was a unanimous decision of all Formula 1 teams and the top of the racing series, which had been approved by the World Motorsport Council. Because of the Corona crisis, the summer break had been brought forward and extended. The five-week factory vacation must be taken by the racing teams and engine manufacturers by the end of May.
