Who will FC Bayern get for the coming season?

Derrick Köhn and Kwasi Wriedt have already made two changes at FCB. Further changes will follow. Where does the Bayern reserve still need and who is moving up from the U19?

After each season there are changes in the Bayern Munich youth. New talents are coming, others are leaving the club.
With Derrick Köhn , Otschi Wriedt (both to Willem II Tilburg ), Wooyeong Jeong (back to SC Freiburg ) and Nicolas Kühn (back to Ajax Amsterdam ), four departures have already been decided.
In the last part of the series by Fußball Vorort / FuPa Oberbayern we look ahead to the coming season.

Who stays, who goes? At FC Bayern U23 , this question arises after every season. For example, Franck Evina (KFC Uerdingen) or Adrian Fein (Hamburger SV) are currently on loan to higher leagues. In a five-part series , we give a possible outlook on the individual team parts and analyze the positions in which the team can use reinforcements for the upcoming tasks in the 3rd division .

In the last part of our series, we look ahead to where Bavaria's second team might need.

Goalkeeper: Lukas Schnell in the fast lane

In part one we analyzed the different alternatives of the goalkeeper. If Christian Früchtl is loaned out as expected, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann will move between the posts at FC Bayern II as the new number one. Michael Wagner will start the fight for a regular place and Michael Netolizky may leave the club.

If Hoffmann and Wagner form the new team of the second team, a home grown from the U19 could rise as the third goalkeeper. There are four goalkeepers in each squad of the record champions. The regular goalkeeper of the U19 Lukas Schneller convinced this season with strong saves. In 19 league games, he only conceded 18 goals .

FC Bayern 2: Kainz and Schneller could fill up

The step into the U23 would be the logical next step. Number four, if Netolitzky leaves, is also 18-year-old Manuel Kainz. The substitute from Schneller was not yet used this season, but was the regular goalkeeper of the U17 in the 2018/2019 season and won the relay championship in the Bundesliga South / Southwest under Miroslav Klose .

It is not out of the question that FC Bayern will get another player from outside. However, it is more likely that the U19 goalkeeper will be promoted - both are still under contract with the Reds until mid- 2021 .

Defense: who will replace Köhn?

In the second part, we discussed the defensive hopes. Derrick Köhn is already gone. Lars Lukas Mai and Angelo Mayer are change candidates. With Köhn (sure) and Mai (loan possible), two absolute regulars break away.

This gives other players more time, for example U19 captain Flavius Daniliuc. The 18-year-old has been used four times in the 3rd division this season. Bright Akwo Arrey-Mbi is only 17, but could be promoted to the Bayern Reserve squad next season. The talent was in the training camp in Qatar with the professionals in winter and was praised by Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba, among others.

Kevin Ehlers from relegation-threatened second division club Dynamo Dresden is a kicker who has been associated with Munich in recent months. The 19-year-old has second division experience and as a perspective player for the professionals would be a direct reinforcement for the team in the 3rd division . The youngster originally comes from Munich and still has a contract in Dresden until 2023 .

Midfield: Some options from your own youth

Sturm: Sandro Wagner as Wriedt replacement?

As already reported in part four, Kwasi Wriedt, Woo-Yeong Jeong and Nicolas Kühn will leave the club. Alexander Nollenberg's days are also numbered, Fiete Arp or Oliver Batista Meier are candidates for a loan.

Joshua Zirkzee has established himself as a Lewandowski replacement in the first team. This would leave room for more U19 talents . Malik Tillman is one of those guys from the record champions' U19s . The 17-year-old scored 13 goals in 17 games . Other options include Marvin Cuni and David Halbich. The two 18-year-olds still have a contract until 2021 and have been with FC Bayern for several years.

Leader Wriedt's departure could be compensated for by a veteran. Sandro Wagner would be a worthy successor who could lead the Bayern reserve. The ex-international's contract expires in China at the end of the year . Wagner would be free of charge and could end his career as a leading player at home.

Lion Lauberbach is another name that was traded. The striker from Holstein Kiel was reportedly in the winter as a new entry. The record master is also said to be interested in Emil Roback from Hammarby IF . The Swede is celebrating his 17th birthday in May and would also be ready for the U19 .
