Full and reduced fees, individual solutions and complete freezing: This is how the clubs in the Würmtal deal with the payment of their coaches during the Corona crisis.

Full and reduced fees, individual solutions and complete freezing: This is how the clubs in the Würmtal deal with the payment of their coaches during the Corona crisis.

Würmtal - Bernd Gegenfurtner is lucky in the Corona crisis. The trainer works for TSV Graefelfing, which is economically well equipped to deal with the pandemic. Like all other trainers of the entire club, the football coach continues to receive his full fee. "I'm happy about that," Gegenfurtner says and thanks his club: "Not many people do that."

In the Würmtal, the wolves are the only ones who are so generous with all their football coaches. "That is also a thank you," explains Sascha Lauterbach and emphasizes that the trainers owe many a favor. The managing director of Gräfelfingen knows only too well that the commitment of his trainers cannot be offset by money. So many volunteer hours have been done in recent years.

Some coaches in the Würmtal are financially dependent on their fees

Solidarity among the clubs and their trainers is very important these days along the Würm. Everyone knows from each other what financial difficulties they are experiencing in part. Ayhan Kurt shows that his trainers in their main jobs are sometimes affected by short-time work or a drop in orders and need every cent. "There are difficult cases," says the SV Planegg-Krailling football department manager.

In agreement with his trainers, he did not pay a salary for April, but the full fee should flow again in May. Although his coaches can still not practice on the area on Hofmarkstrasse because the site is currently closed like all other sports facilities in Bavaria, they are mainly busy with online training in the bliss month.

Reduced payments in Planegg, TSV Neuried focuses on individuality

TSV Neuried is also aware of its social responsibility. "We found very individual solutions for everyone," explains Michaela Schotte. The managing director paid the trainers their normal fee for April. Personal solutions will come into play from May.

On the one hand, there are coaches who voluntarily forego further payment, and on the other hand there are supervisors who are dependent on their income from football. "We cannot all shear together," emphasizes Schotte. A new approach is taking effect in the youth area, where coaches are paid after hours worked. "The association pays a lump sum," explains the managing director. Because the coaches from the youth sector also had a lot to do with training and strategic work in the football-free time.

Meanwhile, the Gautinger SC has completely frozen its payments to the trainers. "But that is coordinated with them," says department head Jens Rindermann.

The DJK Würmtal, on the other hand, has at least reduced the salaries of its coaches, but within an acceptable framework. "We think of our people," assured department head Thomas Gollong. At the DJK, some of the trainers need their fees to live.

In Stockdorf, coaches' wages flow into the sports field renovation

The situation at TV Stockdorf is different. Korbinian Halmich and Marco Gühl voluntarily forego their money during the footballless period and donate it to the renovation of the sports field. "We would have continued to pay," clarifies Robert Frank. This way, the department head can save the fees for the months of April and May.

Coach Franz Möhwald also thinks of the club at TSV Pentenried. "He signaled that he had no need to get the money," says Michael Möhwald. There have been no payments since this month. The head of division of the kickers from Römerfeld feels obliged by the generosity of his uncle himself: The expenses for the training equipment, which the trainer has only recently procured, should therefore be refunded to Franz Möhwald as soon as possible.
