Canal +, one of the two Ligue 1 broadcasters, sent a letter this Thursday morning to the Professional Football League (LFP) to terminate its contract for the 2019-2020 season. The encrypted channel will therefore no longer pay any TV rights to the LFP this season. Canal + indicates in its mail to be impatient that the next season resumes and wishes that it starts as quickly as possible. If the encrypted channel sent this letter as quickly to the LFP, it is to prevent the play-off projects put together by Jean-Michel Aulas, the president of OL, from being put in place. There was no question for the broadcaster to embark on this type of end of the Championship, says L'Équipe. In total, Canal + and beIN Sports, the other broadcaster of L1 and L2, were to pay another 243 million euros by the end of the season to the LFP.
