Erding's referee group chairman Knut Friedrich had praise and criticism at the latest compulsory evening.

In the first virtual referee evening in the history of the Erding group, in which around 80 referees took part at home on the computer, group chairman Knut Friedrich presented the statistics for the past year, among other things.

The Erding referee group had 272 referees in 2019 (2018: 275), of whom 177 (170) were active and 95 (105) were passive.

Erding referees played in 3497 (3576) matches. There were 631 (428) returns. The number of non-appearances has been reduced from five to three.

"Some referees didn't make it easy for the one-piece teams," said Friedrich. He gave no names, but the top three had 20 returns on 33 whistled games, 16 on five and 15 on six led matches.

The chairman criticized the fact that "84 referees who were registered as active did not play 15 games in 2019, which is just over 47 percent of active referees and almost exactly the same number as in 2018".

Friedrich also presented some other interesting figures: Julian Schaub from FC Schwaig (17) took part in most of the referee's group events - compulsory and apprenticeship evenings. Sean O'Regan (FC Erding), Andreas Hettenkofer (FC Inning) and Uwe Ketzer (FC Lengdorf) were present 14 times each.

The group's figureheads in terms of the number of referees in the club are TSV St. Wolfgang, FC Schwaig and SpVgg Altenerding. Nine St. Wolfgang referees, including third division referee Wolfgang Haselberger, led a total of 303 games. Eleven Altenerdinger referees made 242 appearances, which was the third best value. In second place in this ranking are the "black coats" from Schwaig with 290 games. They have six referees, with Markus Raßhofer a man in their ranks who had 100 missions in the past year alone (see interview). Next to him came Julian Neumann from SV Wörth with 83 games and chairman Knut Friedrich, who whistles for TSV Wartenberg and stood 81 times as a referee or assistant on the field or on the sidelines.

The chairman praised the three older colleagues holding up the Erding Group flag. Hans Joachim "Jo" Born from SG Reichenkirchen won a total of 72 games, Alois Geier from SV Altheim, age 59, and Simon Ascher, 67, from TSV Dorfen, aged 50. Finally, the 64-year-old Jakob Huber from SpVgg Altenerding was used 42 times, "without exception on the line," as Friedrich reports, "to support our younger comrades accordingly".
