Hamburg (dpa) - The professional boxer Felix Sturm, sentenced to three years in prison in the past few weeks for tax evasion and doping, wants to get back in the ring.
"Let's go! Preparation starts again on Monday. We'll announce the fight date, who and where I'm going to box against as soon as possible," tweeted the ex-super middleweight world champion on Friday, taking a photo of himself on a walk. A duel with Berlin's Arthur Abraham has been under discussion for a long time.
The 41-year-old Sturm appealed the verdict only last Wednesday. The court is convinced that he withheld from the state around one million euros in taxes from 2008 to 2010 and 2013. The court rated his World Cup fight against the Russian Fyodor Chudinov in February 2016 because of doping as an assault.
