Berlin (dpa) - Former national goalkeeper Jens Lehmann takes over the vacant position of Jürgen Klinsmann on the supervisory board of Bundesliga club Hertha BSC. This was confirmed by a spokesman for investor Lars Windhorst on Sunday of the German press agency. Previously, the "Bild" newspaper reported on the next surprising staff among the Berliners. The 50-year-old Lehmann should take care of sports matters on the Supervisory Board. The consultant Marc Kosicke, whose coaches Jürgen Klopp and Julian Nagelsmann belong to, is also new to the Supervisory Board.
Klinsmann was relieved of his duties as a supervisory board member in February after his spectacular retirement as a Hertha coach. He had taken over before he stepped in as chief coach for the Berliners in December. Lehmann played as a professional with Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund and FC Arsenal. Under national coach Jürgen Klinsmann, he became World Cup goalkeeper in 2006. After his playing career, he was assistant coach at Arsenal and at FC Augsburg. He was also a TV expert at RTL.
