Wherever he played, he was one of the fittest players - and one of the strongest players on top of it: Manfred Eichberger. The Peißenberger has ended his career, he remains loyal to ice hockey in a special way.

Peißenberg - Including the cup games, Manfred Eichberger was on the ice 800 times in the Oberliga and in the Bayernliga. There will be no more games because the 36-year-old striker has ended his career after last season's break. "And definitely," confirms the Peißenberger, who will change professionally.

He spent his last season with the top division EV Füssen, which closed the circle. With the Allgäuer he recorded his first league appearances in the 2001/2002 season. "The last year in Füssen was great fun again," reports Eichberger. "The team spirit was great and we had great success as promoted promoters, of whom little was expected." Eichberger booked the final in the table in the Oberliga Süd as a nice experience, even if he suffered injuries and therefore several Missed games. "Sometimes I played with pain, but now everything is fine again," said Peißenberger, who scored six goals and eight assists in 31 missions for the EVF. In total, "Magic Manni", as it is called by the fans, adds up to almost 800 scorer points. "I had a lot of great experiences."

In the past season, he particularly remembered the derby at home against SC Riessersee in the Füssener Arena with around 3,500 spectators and the duel in Memmingen with almost as many fans: "These were highlights." He wore the Riesserseer jersey before 15 Years for one season. Otherwise, Eichberger was only active at clubs in the Weilheim-Schongau district. For the EA Schongau (2005/06) and the Peißenberg "ice hackers" (2006 to 2008 and 2015 to 2019) he stormed in the Bayernliga, at EC Peiting (2002 to 2005 and 2008 to 2015) he played in the Oberliga. Not anymore.

"I will still play with the old men," reveals Eichberger, who was always one of the fittest in his respective teams. He will continue to practice all kinds of endurance sports such as cycling, inline skating and running. In addition, the C-bill holder in ice hockey will impart his knowledge to the youngsters.
