Lior Eliyahu, one of the greatest Israeli basketball players in recent decades, is considering retiring from basketball, it was first known to Israel Today.
34-year-old Elijah, who played for Maccabi Ashdod last season, was injured in his hand last February and finished the season. Now he is debating whether after the prolonged injury and the fact that by the start of next season it will be over six months to return to play, he should continue his career or finish and move to another episode.
Elijah has won six Spanish championships, three state trophies, seven Winner trophies, was named player of the month in the Euroleague (December 2008) and garnered many other personal titles. In addition, he was selected by the Orlando Magic in 44th place in the Draft HBC in 2006, but did not play in the best league in the world.
Elijah played on the Israeli team from 2007 to 2018 and was one of the most prominent players in Israeli basketball in the current millennium.
