Ottenhofen - From O to O - Hans Bruckmeier changes from the district classics TuS Oberding to DJK Ottenhofen. So that the circle closes again with regard to the league, he should lead the leader of the A-Class 8 back into the circle class.

DJK department head Benjamin Settles doesn't even want to downplay these ambitions. “The starting position is not so bad that we cannot play along for the promotion. It will be exciting to see how the teams come out of the long break. We are preparing for a tight box. "

In A-Class 8, the DJK is two points ahead of TSV St. Wolfgang. Third place is TSV Isen, who has to play one more game and could pass Ottenhofen if he wins. But all of this won't happen until September at the earliest.

"We are actually in an extended winter break," says Settles. The club has now used the long break to make changes in the coaching position. Norbert Mansbarth hands over the scepter to Bruckmeier, but should continue to be integrated into the work of the football department. “We have a very good relationship. He was already my trainer, ”says Settles. It is good for the team if they have a new influence, says the Ottenhofen soccer boss.

Mansbarth has trained the DJK for more than six years - with a short break. He would have loved to celebrate the return to the district class with the team, because he had been nibbling on the relegation for a while, the 53-year-old admits. “But there needs to be a change at some point. And the time situation is now optimal. My successor can now go through a complete preparation. On the club side, the change is absolutely understandable, ”says Mansbarth.

Not much will change in football, Settles suspects, "Both coaches value physical fitness and like to work with young people." Hans Bruckmeier was the first choice. “He is an experienced man and is very familiar with the district football. I knew he would normally stay with a club for three years. ”In Oberding, the 70-year-old was one season off, but announced his departure there a few months ago.

"I like working with smaller clubs around the church tower," explains Hans Bruckmeier, why he chose the DJK Ottenhofen. "I have no desire to drive to Landshut or anywhere else." He would rather be where players identify with the club, "and I have the feeling in Ottenhofen". The DJK has a team with young and developable people that he is looking forward to. Will it go up to the circle class? “Of course we want to take the next possible step. But there is no guarantee. We have a small squad. If you lose three top performers, you will quickly lose ground. "In addition, the toughest competitors TSV St. Wolfgang and TSV Isen also work very well," added Bruckmeier.

He will probably be able to rely on the same people who shot the DJK to the top of the table. “In winter, everyone agreed to come next season. And I haven't heard anything that changes someone's job, ”says Settles.

The DJK does not want to implement the small group training courses made possible by the football association immediately. “We want to wait and see how the next few weeks develop and start up operations only slowly. With the current restrictions. it’s relatively difficult to do two-hour training sessions. ”But the players are diligent anyway. "I see a lot of people walking. In addition, Lukas Mansbarth performs a half-hour workout online every Thursday. He actually works in a gym and does it great. ”

The outgoing coach's son has already played in the district league for Vaterstetten and Forstinning, but will continue to be part of the DJK squad. A squad that, according to Norbert Mansbarth, "is full of good boys", but is still barely staffed with 15 people. "It can happen to you that you only have five or six players in training because some of them can't make it out of Munich," says Mansbarth.

He doesn't need to give his successor tips. "He's been around for so long. Brucki has enough experience. He meets a very good club in Ottenhofen. The top management does that really well. ”

Oh yes, he did have a tip for Hans Bruckmeier: “You can't achieve much here with sheer rigor. The DJK is a village association in which camaraderie and conviviality are very important. The boys like to sit together. That is important to them, and then they tear themselves up on the pitch. ”Mansbarth is enthusiastic. His highlight in the past seven years? Mansbarth: "Every game, every training session."
