Another regular player has extended his contract with EC Peiting. He scored 21 goals last season and helped prepare 22.

Peiting - First Lukas Gohlke signed for three years, now Thomas Heger has also committed to EC Peiting for two more seasons. The 22-year-old extended his contract with the top ice hockey club. "He came to us from the DNL at that time and has since grown into a regular player who is hard to imagine without," says team manager Gordon Borberg about Heger. "In addition, he can score important goals."

Third best scorer last season

Heger was born in Schongau and moved from U18 of ESV Kaufbeuren to Oberligisten Peiting in 2017. Since then he has played 156 competitive games for the ECP - and has steadily increased. Last season he scored 21 goals and 22 assists in 50 games. He was the best Peitinger after Nardo Nagtzaam (67 scorer points) and Ty Morris (62). "A likeable boy who has not yet reached the end of his development," says ECP spokesman Simon Fritzenschaft about the young attacker. "There's a lot more to it!"

Heger himself also wants to improve. "I just feel good here and think that peiting is the right place for me to develop even more and to advance my game," says the 22-year-old. Since he opted for further school education, he immediately asked for a two-year contract. The ECP managers gladly fulfilled his wish.

The squad of EC Peiting

Departures: Brad Miller, Wayne Lucas, Thomas Schmid, Liam Hätinen, Maximilian Schäffler (no goal known to all), Florian Stauder (EV Füssen).
Access: Dennis Neal (ECDC Memmingen).
Extensions: Lukas Gohlke, Thomas Heger.

The DEL is the dream of many ice hockey players. Fabian Dietz (21) made it there. For the "Eisbären Berlin", he competed 42 times in the (now canceled) season - he managed a special campaign on October 11, 2019.
The transfer stop is over, now the top ice hockey teams are tinkering with their ranks. The EC Peiting signed the first player. And the fans should already know that.
