Dortmund (dpa) - Borussia Dortmund has confirmed its title claims to restart the Bundesliga with an effortless derby victory. The second in the table gave FC Schalke 04 no chance at 4: 0 (2: 0) and reduced the gap to leaders FC Bayern to one point for the time being.
The Munich team will only return to the league with ghost games on Sunday at Union Berlin after a ten-week Corona break. Third-placed RB Leipzig suffered a setback in the title race due to the 1-1 (0-1) home game against SC Freiburg.
Coach Bruno Labbadia celebrated a successful debut at Hertha BSC. The Berliners won 3-0 (0-0) at 1899 Hoffenheim and made room for themselves in the relegation battle. In contrast, coach Heiko Herrlich had to watch a 1: 2 (0: 1) of his FC Augsburg against VfL Wolfsburg from a box.
