Erich Adoris, the Bilbao athletic legend, has announced retirement from football at 39. The Basque striker intended to retire at the end of the season, but due to the Corona crisis that led to the league's return, the retirement announcement has already arrived.
"The moment has come," Adoris wrote, "I have often said that football is abandoning you before you leave. Yesterday, the doctors recommended that I have surgery, preferably as soon as possible, so that I could manage as normal daily life as possible. Unfortunately, the body told me 'enough' "I can't help my teammates as much as I would like and deserve them. It's part of the life of a professional athlete. It's very simple."
Adoris also did not ignore the current situation in Spain, a country that suffered the most from the Corona virus: "Unfortunately, we are experiencing far more serious and painful situations. The epidemic we are still suffering from, leaves irreparable damage and we must continue to fight it. So don't worry about my retirement. "It's just an anecdote."
Adoris joined Athletic Bilbao at the age of 19 and spent most of his career there in several terms. His current period at the club began in 2012, during which he won the Spanish boxer in 2015. The season did not play much, but scored one memorable goal, a number that led to a victory in the 90th minute against Barcelona. In addition, the striker recorded 13 appearances in the Spanish national team uniform.
